朱利安·格拉克（Julien Gracq,1910-2007） 法国当代著名小说家、诗人、剧作家和评论家。1910年生于法国曼恩-卢瓦尔省。1938年走上文学创作之路。主要作品有小说《阿尔戈古堡》《林中阳台》《流沙海岸》《阴郁的美男子》，散文诗集《巨大的自由》，随笔集《首字花饰》等。 格拉克的小说受到夏多布里昂、奈瓦尔、诺瓦利斯和歌德等浪漫主义作家的影响，同时吸取超现实主义代表人物布勒东的意识的无指向性和瞬间变幻的迷离飘忽的现代艺术风格，形成了格拉克小说感情充沛、意境飘渺，寓意深远的独特品格。强烈的散文化和诗化的小说风格，让他在法国当代文学史上有着“诗情小说家”的美誉。

玛丽·荷·艾斯（MarieHallEts），1895年生于美国威斯康星州的米尔沃基。自幼喜欢绘画，就读于劳伦斯学院和纽约美术学校，毕业后从事室内设计。第一任丈夫在第一次世界大战中去世后，她放弃了绘画，转而从事儿童福利事业。1921年，她受红十字会派遣远赴捷克继续儿童福利工作，却因医疗事故导致健康受损，次年回国。1943年，她在照顾病重的第二任丈夫时重拾画笔，断断续续开始了《在森林里》的创作。丈夫过世之后赴纽约正式学习绘本创作。 艾斯共出版了二十一本图画书，其中《在森林里》、《像我平常那样》、《和我玩好吗》、《宾尼先生的赛马》、《安东尼·乌先生》等五本获凯迪克银奖，1960年《还差九天圣诞节》获凯迪克金奖。艾斯的作品以简单隽永见长，常表现她对动物的热爱及与大自然的深刻交流。她被美国绘本界誉为上世纪三四十年代树立了绘本典范的作家之一。
